Fans have officially selected the winner of the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest. Dylan Bradshaw and Nate Norell’s Abduction reigns supreme.
Doritos put Doritos Super Bowl power in the hands of its fans with a challenge, “Think you can make a better ad? Prove it.” Thousands answered the call (and the chance to win US$1 million).
Fans were then given another challenge – to vote the winner. The unexpected humour and creativity of Abduction, that plays on sci-fi tropes with hilarious twists and turns, won their hearts.
Abduction will air as the brand’s 25th Super Bowl commercial. Best friends and co-directors, Bradshaw and Norell ,will receive $1 million and an all-expense-paid trip to New Orleans for The Big Game. The spot will air in the first quarter during Super Bowl LIX.
“This year’s Crash the Super Bowl contest winner, Abduction, is the ultimate embodiment of Doritos’ For the Bold ethos. They truly pushed the bounds of creativity with their Abduction ad,” stated Tina Mahal, senior vice president of marketing at PepsiCo Foods North America. “We can’t wait to showcase their vision on the biggest stage in advertising, as we know the spot will inspire our fans to continue stepping outside of what is expected.”
