Donald Trump states that Switzerland doesn’t exist and that sets comedian, Patirck Karpi Karpiczenko, off on a wild rant about the non-existence of the country. While Trump has said some spectacularly stupid things, the clip is a deep fake but it’s a wonderful starting point for a hilarious tirade about all the images of Switzerland he claims prove that Switzerland is a fake country…
…and it’s an eye-catching (if oblique) way for a small museum dedicated to imagery and visual media, Fotomuseum Winterthur, to promote its reopening on May 17 2025, following two years of renovations.
Through the fun video, Switzerland Is Fake, the museum invites viewers to consider how imagery and technology are affecting the world’s sense of what is true.
