Spring (aka DIY season) has sprung in Europe and HeimatTBWA\ Germany is helping Hornbach to make the most of the seasonal opportunity again. In another of what has become a power-packed history of emotive commercials, the partners present a film that captures the exhilaration of shedding winter’s hibernation to Feel Like a Kid Again, with an allegorical spring arriving as a massive tory truck overloaded with flowers.
The spirits-lifting campaign was directed by Fredrik Bond and produced by Tony Peterson Film and MJZ Londo. Note the brilliant sound design underpinning by Fridge Audio Berlin.
In worrying times like now, where optimism is low, reclaiming that playful joy has never been more crucial. The campaign urges adults to rediscover child-like lightheartedness, ease and excitement. And the campaign shows that it doesn’t take much to rekindle that spark.
“Deep inside each of us lies a dormant urge for unbridled childlike exuberance,” stated Guido Heffels, longtime chief creative at HeimatTBWA for Hornbach.” No other brand fulfills this longing quite like Hornbach—with a wheelbarrow-sized dose of madness in spring.”

“With a twinkle in the eye, the campaign perfectly captures the emotions people feel in this important season and reflects the relentless drive of HORNBACH customers. There’s a special, unforgettable kind of happiness – a childlike joy, that comes from creating something with your own hands,” added Thomas Schnaitmann, head of international brand at HORNBACH.
This gigantic, toy truck will stretch across every element of the campaign, that is running in nine European countries. The TVC and online video are supported in social media, digital platforms, (D)OOH, and point-of-sale activations.
