Melbourne independent agency, Kerfuffle, has hired the best creatives in the world* to join its team. Hugh Gurney and Joe Sibley join as ECDs. The pair recently acquired the web domain, TheBestCreativesintheworld.com. An unequivocal endorsement that they are indeed the Best Creatives in the World.
“They wouldn’t sell that domain for $19.99 per annum to just anyone. It’s an honour to be recognised – legally – as the owners of such a prestigious URL, and to be joining the best advertising agency in the world*,” stated Gurney.
The pair come off a stellar run as ECDs at Droga5, creating beloved work including Weather Anything for Macpac, The Happiness List and The Comments Section for MLA, England Bitter for VB and loads more, winning tonnes of shiny metal in the process. The team is now looking forward to a fresh challenge at the new indie.
“After eight formative years at Droga5, formerly The Monkeys, part of Accenture Song, we’re excited to begin the next chapter at Kerfuffle. We’re deeply grateful to the talented people who shaped that time, and genuinely excited to join the excellence, humanity and creative energy of Kerfuffle,” stated Sibley.
In addition, the pair are joined by another new starter, Eliza Malone, who joins as head of production. Malone joins after 25 years of experience in the industry, shaping the best work. Eliza is, coincidentally, the best producer in the world*.
“I actually am,” she said.
Creative chairman of Kerfuffle, Ant Keogh, commente, “Having worked for a number of years in the advertising mines, alongside Lize, Hugh and Joe, their creative excellence is undeniable, and it will be invaluable to have them help shape our new agency. We all aspire to similar ideals, to create exciting work that real people (rather than just award juries) love and applaud. Their innate ability to communicate on a human level is even more valuable, now media seems to be heading in an increasingly artificial, algorithmic hell-fire.”
The trio start immediately.
