Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort and Jimmy Kimmel’s Kimmelot livened up another long Oscars presentation with their three-spot mockumentary series for Autodesk software. The campaign, Make Anything, is a tribute to Hollywood pioneer, Otto Desinski, aka Otto Desć, revered ally of writer/director, Elizabeth Banks (Cocaine Bear, Pitch Perfect and Reynolds’ Definitely, Maybe Co-Star); actor, Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Beauty & The Beast, Sons of Anarchy); cinematographer, Mandy Walker (Elvis); and VFX expert, Paul Lambert (Dune, Blade Runner 2049), who all add their praise for the legend…

…who turns out to be Autodesk, the software used by filmmakers, producers, creative pros – and everyday creators.
“Autodesk has been a secret weapon for Hollywood’s artists for decades, and what better way to highlight that than to create a fake man of vaguely Germanic descent to receive an award that doesn’t exist?” Reynolds stated. “If you’re thinking Otto Desć looks suspiciously like Academy Award nominee and Free Guy VFX supervisor, Swen Gillberg, you’d be wrong. No further questions.”

Autodesk was used to create design and FX elements for films such as Avatar, Pinocchio and All Quiet on the Western Front last year.
