After 30 years as global chief creative officer, Philippe Meunier, Sid Lee’s co-founder, is handing over the creative reins to Kristian Manchester, who will work with Sid Lee’s newly appointed US chief executive officer, Tom Ramsden.
Manchester, the creative mind behind Sid Lee’s most famous work, will now be the driving force behind growth across the collective as global chief creative officer. He will lead the creative of the collective’s seven offices and community members Digital Kitchen, Yard, Bimm, and Haigo.
Manchester has been with Sid Lee since 2001 and has played a crucial role in building the company’s international creative reputation. In his previous role as executive creative director, he earned worldwide recognition and numerous awards. He was also instrumental in Cirque du Soleil’s global expansion and helped shape culture for many campaigns such as adidas House Party and Walls are Meant for Climbing by The North Face. In recent years, Manchester has dedicated his brazen energy, and eternal youth to high-profile clients like Nutrafol, Sony, Hyundai Motors, Havana Club, Netflix, the Montréal Canadiens, Ubisoft, Skyn, and Moët & Chandon.
Philippe Meunier stated that he has worked alongside Manchester for over two decades and praises his embodiment of the agency’s creative culture incubator, Sid Lee Collective. “Kristian sees potential in everyone and has a unique understanding of creative talent. He has heightened our creative product and inspired and raised a generation of talents.”
Manchester commented, “I’m incredibly proud to be part of Sid Lee, and we’re fundamentally about driving culture by influencing brands and empowering them to make a difference. As a collective, we have a wide range of disciplines to leverage and activate to achieve our ambition of being the best creative allies in the world.”
Manchester and Ramsden have previously worked together on campaigns such as the adidas House Party. “Tom is an amazing and progressive human being with whom I’ve produced some of the best work of my career,” Manchester noted.
By instilling a collaborative approach, Ramsden will connect the operations in the US to the broader Sid Lee community. “Sid Lee’s craftsmanship, collaboration, and lateral approach to creativity keep inspiring me. I’m looking forward to growing the expertise of the US team and adding value for our current and future clients,” he stated.
