One of the most delightful romantic comedies this year comes not from a Hollywood production company but a Greek energy provider, Protergia, its creative agency, The Newtons Laboratory and Boo Productions director, Argyris Papadimitropoulos. Its stars are not in their Hollywood-approved twenties or early thirties. Their sixty-something. The film is full of life, full of fun and filled with a deep understanding of the mind-set of those who have reached silver age.
It’s the life-affirming story of neighbours falling in love. Neighbour in their sixties, behaving like love-stuck teens. The background to the 2.45 minute short film is the idea that falling love makes you feel young.
“Love knows no age. And yet, many believe that at some point, we should stop falling in love, stop starting over, stop dreaming. But life has other plans.
In the so-called silver age, a time often seen as an ending, many people are proving it’s actually a new beginning. They rediscover curiosity, the desire to explore new hobbies, new experiences – and yes, new love,” the agency commented. “Because there’s no moment in life that can’t become the beginning of a brand-new story.”

Yes, it’s a commercial. The story underlines that Protergia stands by people in their silver age, offering programs and benefits that allow them to live freely, with energy, security, and independence. With a story this enjoyable, Protergia is forgiven for invading – or let’s say, hosting – it.
