The Stable has had its say with its best ads of the year lists – Christmas, humour, emotive and wow. But it welcomes other opinions. Here is BBDO Asia’s.
1. #HomeTeams Share the Load. Agency: BBDO India. Client: Ariel
Ariel’s latest campaign, HomeTeams #ShareTheLoad, ignites discussions on the often-overlooked mental load carried by women. By spotlighting the pivotal role of husbands as trusted allies in household responsibilities, the campaign urges couples to unite as a “home team.” Part of Ariel’s globally recognised movement, it reaffirms their commitment to championing equality and paving the way for a brighter, more inclusive future.
2. Play the Dew. Agency: BBDO Guerrero. Client: Mountain Dew
When playing video games outdoors, players often mute their phones out of courtesy. But as the game intensifies, they instinctively make sound effects themselves. With this insight, the Play the Dew campaign replaced sound effects with the word, “Dew.”
Dew Battle recreates a first-person shooter game where a player faces helicopters, enemy fire, and explosions. Each sound effect in the radio spot is created entirely from voice recordings of the word, “Dew.”
3. Minimize your frustration. Agency: BBDO Bangkok. Client: Roojai Online Insurance
Roojai Online Insurance has been addressing a common question from the public: why use a kangaroo as the brand’s corporate identity (CI)? BBDO Bangkok answered it – with a wild visual idea and off-the-wall humour. The campaign is based on the insight that when it comes to accidents, everyone can become frustrated.
4. Ad That’s Worth Remembering. Agency: BBDO Bangkok. Client: Five Star Chicken
This fun, bizarre nostalgic campaign reimagines famous [read: attention magnet] movie moments with real Five Star consumers. Think: the water-rippling scene from Jurassic Park, the dramatic Spartan kick from 300, heart-pounding Korean zombies from Train to Busan, and an emotional father-daughter reunion—all brought to life with a playful Five Star twist.
5. Second Chance. Agency: BBDO Bangkok. Client: The Women and Men Progressive Foundation and the Thai Health Promotion Foundation
An inventive campaign that raises awareness about domestic violence by using AI to bring the late Gigi Supitcha, a talented Thai actress, back to the screen. Her reactivated Instagram account teased a fictional movie titled Second Chance, capturing public and fans attention before the emotional reveal – the movie doesn’t exist because Gigi is no longer here. The video highlights the irreversible toll of domestic violence and calls for action.
6. Salute the Detail. Agency: BBDO Bangkok. Client: Club21 Thailand
Luxury fashion distributor Club 21 Thailand launched its first-ever campaign, celebrates craftsmanship with a puzzle, while expanding the brand’s audience and staying true to its loyal clientele who cares for the details.
7. ‘Oye Lucky’ ft. Abhay Deol. Agency: BBDO India. Client: WhatsApp
The anti-scam ad you never expected and can’t get out of your head. WhatsApp Scam Se Bacho – The first scam warning people can dance to highlights the importance of staying vigilant online. The catchy dance video presents common scams such as fake job offers, impersonation fraud, and OTP scams in relatable scenarios. It emphasises caution and educates users on WhatsApp’s robust protective measures. The campaign has generated 16 million views on YouTube alone and millions more on Insta and other social platforms.
