Cannes Lions has released The Global Creativity Report’s 2015 edition. Australia has dropped one place in the most creative countries, from 5th last year to 6th this. New Zealand has dropped 3 places, from 11th last year to 14th this.
The report incorporates the results from Cannes Lions, Lions Health and Lions Innovation and includes rankings, analysis and insights on creative communications across the world.
“With over 40,000 entries from 94 countries, Cannes Lions is a barometer of creativity globally. This report uncovers trends, and highlights where the truly outstanding work is coming from. It’s invaluable in the insight it provides and by producing The Global Creativity Report, we hope it helps to point the way for the future of the industry,” Philip Thomas, chief executive officer, Lions Festivals, noted.

Regional Network of the Year:
Asia Pacific: BBDO
EMEA: DDB
North America: Grey
Latin America: Ogilvy & Mather
Most creative countries:
Australia is ranked 6, down from its no. 5 spot last year. New Zealand is ranked 14, down from its no.11 spot last year.

- Brazil down to third.
Argentina and India both took large tumbles down the rankings. Spain whooshed upwards, increasing its points haul by 26%.
Most creative cities:
- New York
- London
- Sao Paulo
- Paris
The top four most creative cities remain unchanged from 2014. Los Angeles dropped from 5th place to 17th. Chicago, which failed to rank in the top 20 last year, ranked 6th in 2015.
Most creative agencies Asia Pacific:
- Colenso BBDO Auckland
- M&C Saatchi Sydney
- Y&R Shanghai.
GPY&R Melbourne was ranked no.9. Leo Burnett Sydney, 15. J Walter Thompson Sydney, 17, GPY&R Brisbane, 19..
Client of the Year:
- Procter & Gamble
- Samsung
- Nike
- Unilever
- Burger King.
Geico, Under Armour and Optus all feature in the top 20 for the first time.
The Global Creativity Report also features more extensive listings for the special awards, including Agency of the Year, Network of the Year, Holding Company of the Year and Independent Agency of the Year, as well as rankings in 10 sectors and top art directors, copywriters, creative directors and directors.
