Knowing your postie was once a reassuring part of life, ensuring that your all letters were delivered safely. These days, Kiwis barely know their neighbours, but the value of a postie “who knows you” is undiminished – especially as letters have become packages, and those packages often have significant costs attached to them.
FCB New Zealand and NZ Post are underlining the fact that no-one knows Kiwi neighbourhoods like their local NZ Post courier. And it’s doing that with the warmest story possible – that of a cat which (opportunistically) calls a number of houses home and the NZ Post courier who is the only human privy to her secret – told by Sweetshop director, Noah Marshall.
The new campaign builds on the great results delivered by its earlier (equally emotive) Keeping Ho Ho Hush Hush story last Christmas.
Leisa Wall, executive creative director, FCB New Zealand, commented, “NZ Post is a client who truly understand the power of strong emotional brand storytelling and it’s been wonderful to build on the work we started last Christmas.”
Sarah Sandoval, general manager – consumer and brand, NZ Post, added, “NZ Post plays an essential role in keeping our communities and NZ connected, particularly as essential workers through COVID-19. We’re often peoples only connection when in lockdown and beyond – our people take this role incredibly seriously and genuinely care about delivering for the communities they work in.”
The spot went to air on August 26 in New Zealand and will run until mid-October. This will be followed by the return of Keeping Ho Ho Hush Hush.
