Tourism Tasmania has appointed Red Havas as its global communications agency following a competitive tender process. The agency will be responsible for delivery of global PR strategy and coordination across key markets.
Red Havas’ focus will be encouraging key international markets to experience the freedom, excitement and unique curiosity of Tasmania with its global communications program.
The global account will be led by the Australian team and activated by the Red Havas network in New Zealand, United Kingdom and Singapore, with the United States supported on a campaign basis alongside the reappointed PR agency, Julie Earle-Levine Consulting.
Sarah Clark, chief executive officer, Tourism Tasmania, stated, “Tasmania is a travel destination that punches well above its weight in terms of stories and experiences. We’re looking forward to working with Red Havas to really tap into those unique stories and increase our global presence across top-tier media outlets, while strengthening our ambition to make a positive impact on tourism around the world.”
James Wright, global chief executive officer, Red Havas and chief executive officer Havas Creative Network Australia, commented, “We feel very privileged to be appointed as the Global Communications Agency for Tourism Tasmania and to partner with their incredible team to showcase Tassie to the world.
“Tasmania provides a rich source of storytelling and we are energised by the opportunity to capture the island’s culture and diversity, leveraging our deep credentials and relationships in key markets to encourage people to experience the destination. Having visited many times, I can say the feeling of the culture and environment is truly an antidote to the fast-paced and cluttered reality of today’s busy world.”
The Red Havas Global Hub based in Australia will be collaborating with Tourism Tasmania’s marketing team and global agency network to develop a global communications program, including PR and content development, media relations, publicity, advocacy and influencer relationships.
