Apple is Cannes Lions 2025 Marketer of the Year, the second time it has received the award that applauds “a marketer that has amassed a body of iconic, Lion-winning work over a sustained period of time”. Apple also won the award in 2019
“Apple has fostered a culture that prioritizes creativity and innovation, and that shows up in its deep understanding of meaningful marketing. As part of its culture, it’s clear that Apple’s leadership encourages the kind of thinking necessary to create marketing content that connects with people in a uniquely emotional way. This honour is about recognising those marketers who are being bold, brave, and pushing boundaries — and Apple continues to do this in spades,” stated Simon Cook, Cannes Lions CEO.
Recent work such as the Shot on iPhone series, Relax: Tractor, and The Underdogs: Swiped Mac were contributors to the award.
In 2024, Apple won Lions in Brand Experience & Activation, Digital Craft, Entertainment, Film, Film Craft, Health & Wellness, Industry Craft and Media, and it has ranked among the top three brands at Cannes Lions in each of the past three years.
Past Creative Marketer of the Year winners include AB InBev, Burger King, Coca-Cola, Google, Heineken, IKEA, Mars, and McDonald’s.
Tor Myhren, Apple’s vice president of Marketing Communications, will deliver a special keynote during the awards festival happening in June later this year.
